The beach is still not disturbed by 'men' and there are many hermit crabs here. Creatures which live in abandoned shells protecting their bodies, the recycling habit that we should follow. This reminds me the BBC documentary I watched, it's all about these wonderful little Hermies and their social behavior 'vacancy chain', a good example how to consume restricted resources on earth sufficiently.

I like its name in both English 'hermit crab' and Myanmar 'wingazu' (ဝင်ကစွပ်) which implies 'to fit oneself with', an admirable behavior.

ตามชายหาดที่ยังไม่ค่อยมีคนมาคนให้วุ่นวายนี้ มีปูเสฉวนหลายตัว สิ่งมีชีวิตซึ่งอาศัยเปลือกที่เจ้าของเดิมไม่ใช้แล้วเป็นเครื่องกำบังกาย นิสัยที่มนุษย์เราควรดูเป็นตัวอย่าง มันทำให้นึกถึงภาพยนตร์สารคดีของบีบีซีที่เคยดู แล้วรู้สึกทึ่งในเจ้าตัวเล็กๆ พวกนี้ กับการรู้จักใช้ทรัพยากรบนโลกอย่างคุ้มค่าและชาญฉลาด กับพฤติกรรมทางสังคม การสวมซ้ำ 'เปลือกว่างเป็นทอดๆ'

ผมชอบชื่อปูเสฉวนทั้งในภาษาอังกฤษ ที่แปลว่า ปูฤาษี และภาษาเมียนมา วีง์กะซุอ์ (ဝင်ကစွပ်) ซึ่งมีความหมายโยงถึงการสวมใส่ เพราะอธิบายพฤติกรรมน่าชื่นชมของพวกมันได้เป็นอย่างดี

I've already known that there will be another beach on the other side. But to set foot on it on the spot after trekking through a thorny jungle instead of coming by lifeboat, I'm still very excited as though I'm the one who discover this hidden beach myself.

ถึงจะรู้มาก่อนว่า จะเจอชายหาดอีกฝั่งหนึ่งของเกาะ แต่การที่ต้องเดินฝ่าดงหนามแทนนั่งเรือเล็กมา แล้วพอโผล่พ้นราวป่าก็เห็นหาดทรายตรงหน้าเลย มันทำให้ผมอดตื่นเต้นไม่ได้ อารมณ์เหมือนเป็นคนค้นพบชายหาดตกสำรวจแห่งนี้เองงั้นแหละ

In the morning like this, this long white sandy beach still has some shades of the forest over the crystal clear blue water, really suited for those who don't have the heart to a sunny beach like me. 

หาดทรายขาวยาวเหยียด ช่วงเช้าแบบนี้ ยังมีร่มเงาของราวป่าทาบทับผืนน้ำทะเลสีครามใสแจ๋ว ถูกใจคนกลัวแดดอย่างผมนัก

There are many scattered rocks on the beach. It's quite comfortable to sit in a cool water, leaning the back on those rocks and watching a panoramic view in front. Nga Mann or Shark Island is on the left. Nyaung Wee, the largest island around here, is on the right. Lampi Island is faintly seen in the background.

ริมหาดมีโขดหินให้นั่งพิงแช่น้ำเย็นๆ ชมทิวทัศน์กว้างๆ ตรงหน้า ที่มองเห็นเกาะงะมาง์หรือเกาะฉลามอยู่ทางซ้ายมือ เกาะญอง์วี เกาะใหญ่ที่สุดซึ่งอยู่ใกล้ๆ ทางขวามือ โดยมีเกาะลาง์ปิเห็นเป็นเงาลางๆ ซ้อนอยู่ด้านหลัง

Krerk..Krerk.. A blue-wing kingfisher swoops down quite near me, before landing on a dry twig at the rocks. Its manner seem to warn the newcomer that "this place is mine"

แกรก..แกรก.. นกกระเต็นปีกสีฟ้าสดแข่งกับน้ำทะเลบินโฉบปาดหน้าผมไปเกาะกิ่งไม้บนโขดหินริมหาดอย่างไม่เกรงใจ เหมือนจะจงใจบอกเป็นนัยกับผู้มาเยือนว่า "ถิ่นนี้ของข้า"

Fisherman's Trail เส้นทางชาวประมง

After breakfast on board, The lifeboat sends us ashore at the north island for trekking. This is a short and only one in this trip ..Fisherman's Trail.

หลังอาหารเช้าบนเรือ เรานั่งเรือเล็กขึ้นหาดบนเกาะที่อยู่ทางทิศเหนือเพื่อเดินป่า เป็นการเดินป่าระยะทางสั้นๆ เพียงครั้งเดียวในการเดินทางครั้งนี้กับ ..เส้นทางชาวประมง

Our leader, Ko Paing, uses his knife to widen the trail for us. Actually the jungle is not so thick, there are not many big tall trees overhead, but the trail is quite dense. We have to cross tangled clusters of vines and cautiously avoid thorny rattans which are just above the ground. Ironically, I think.. the fishermen may no longer use this path now.

โกปายง์ต้องใช้มีดถางฟันไม้เปิดทางเดินนำเราเข้าป่าริมหาด ป่าที่นี่แม้จะไม่ทึบ เพราะไม้ใหญ่ไม่สูงนัก แต่ทางเดินค่อนข้างรก ต้องก้าวขาข้ามเถาวัลย์ กับระวังหนามหวายที่อยู่เรี่ยดินและคมมาก ผมนึกประชดในใจ ..ชาวประมงคงเลิกใช้เป็นเส้นทางสัญจรแล้วกระมัง

Just about 10 minutes later, we finally reach the other side of the island, the north beach.

This morning the water around the boat is calm and clear turquoise. I can't stop jumping into it, not forget to take my iPhone 6S+ in the waterproof case with me.

ผมอดใจเห็นน้ำทะเลสีฟ้าอมเขียวใสๆ นิ่งๆ รอบเรือไม่ไหว เลยกระโจนลงน้ำไปคนเดียวแต่เช้า โดยไม่ลึมเอา iPhone 6S+ ใส่ซองกันน้ำคล้องคอลงไปด้วย

Under the water, I hardly press the buttons on the phone screen, presumably due to the water pressure around the case. Another problem is the focus issue, very difficult. But when I raise it up above the water, it's OK. Two pics of our boat above are my first trial results.

เวลาอยู่ใต้น้ำ ผมกดปุ่มต่างๆ บนหน้าจอโทรศัพท์ได้ไม่ถนัด สันนิษฐานว่าเกิดจากความดันของน้ำรอบซอง ปัญหาอีกอย่างคือ โฟกัสภาพยากมาก แต่ถ้ายกมันขึ้นเหนือน้ำเมื่อไรก็ไม่มีปัญหา การลองของครั้งแรกของผมได้ผลเป็นภาพเรือของเราสองภาพข้างบน

I wake up early at four o'clock local time as usual (04:30 Thailand time). From my room window that was opened for the cool sea breezes throughout the night, I can see the surrounding island silhouettes by the light of the full moon that approaches the island on the west.

At five, other travelers and the crew are still asleep. I walk from my room passing the captain's cabin and climb up the upper deck where we sat watching the super moon last night. I then discover my best 'time and place' of this trip.. ..

ผมตื่นเช้าเป็นนิสัยตั้งแต่ตี ๔ ตามเวลาเมียนมา (๐๔.๓๐ ตามเวลาไทย) จากหน้าต่างห้องพักที่เปิดรับลมทะเลเย็นสบายตลอดทั้งคืน แสงจันทร์วันเพ็ญที่กำลังจะลับขอบเกาะทางตะวันตก ยังช่วยให้มองเห็นเงาเค้าโครงของหมู่เกาะรอบด้าน 

ตี ๕​ นักท่องเที่ยวคนอื่นและลูกเรือยังคงหลับกันอยู่ ผมออกจากห้องพัก เดินผ่านห้องกัปตันแล้วปีนดาดฟ้าเรือที่นั่งชมจันทร์เจ้าเมื่อคืนอีกครั้ง แล้วค้นพบ กาละ..เวลา และเทศะ..สถานที่ที่ดีที่สุดในการเดินทางครั้งนี้ของผม .. ..

Tonight, our boat is the only one anchoring at 115 island. Seldom, I can hear the local fisherman boats in the distance. And when the boat's main engine has been turned off at around 9 pm, everything goes into tranquility.

Tonight, there will be a colorful Tazaungdaing (တန်ဆောင်တိုင်) Festival in Kaw Thaung. We also celebrate our Loi Krathong Festival in Thailand, although this year it will be just traditionally because we're still in the mourning period for the king. I choose to come here for the difference.. serenity,  but i don't expect the utmost silence like this.

I even can hear the sound of waves caressing a nearby sandy beach, or trace the direction of small fishes jumping above the water.

คืนนี้ เรือของเราเป็นเรือเพียงลำเดียวที่ทอดสมอจอดอยู่ที่เกาะ ๑๑๕ นานๆ จะได้ยินเสียงเรือประมงของชาวบ้านแล่นผ่านไกลๆ แล้วพอเรือดับเครื่องยนต์หลักตอนประมาณ ๓ ทุ่ม ทุกอย่างรอบตัวก็อยู่ในความเงียบสงบ 

คืนนี้ ที่เกาะสองคงสนุกสนานกับงานฉลองตาง์ศอง์ดายง์ (တန်ဆောင်တိုင်) แห่พระกันทั่วเมือง ในเมืองไทยก็คงมีงานลอยกระทงกันตามประเพณี แม้จะไม่สนุกสนานเหมือนปีก่อนๆ เพราะยังอยู่ในช่วงไว้ทุกข์ให้ในหลวง ผมเลือกความเงียบที่นี่ แต่ก็ไม่คิดว่าจะเงียบสงัดขนาดนี้ 

เงียบจนได้ยินเสียงคลื่นกระทบหาดทรายใกล้ๆ อย่างแผ่วเบา เงียบจนจับทิศของเสียงปลาตัวน้อยกระโดดพ้นผิวน้ำได้

While the sky above is full of light and color. The water below is not the less or may be even more with its quivering surface. When it is calm, the reflection is straightforward. But when it is wavy, the reflection is looked deviously different.

ขณะที่ท้องฟ้าเบื้องบนกำลังจัดเต็มทั้งแสงและสี ผืนน้ำเบื้องล่างก็ดูไม่ยิ่งหย่อนไปกว่ากัน หรืออาจจะมากกว่าเสียด้วยซ้ำ เพราะพื้นผิวพริ้วไหวแปรเปลี่ยนตลอดเวลา บางขณะที่ราบเรียบ ก็สะท้อนภาพผืนฟ้าอย่างตรงไปตรงมา บางขณะที่เต็มไปด้วยระลอกคลื่น ภาพสะท้อนกลับแตกต่างหลอกตา

Finally the captain slows down the boat to our first destination today at 115 island. There is no mooring buoy here, so the crew has to choose the proper spot for anchoring.

กัปตันค่อยๆ ชลอเรือเพื่อจอดที่จุดหมายปลายทางวันแรกของเรา..เกาะ ๑๑๕ บริเวณนี้ไม่มีทุ่นจอดเรือ ลูกเรือจึงต้องเลือกตำแหน่งทอดสมออย่างระมัดระวัง

Within half an hour while the boat is slowing down before anchoring in the 115 island surroundings, I feel like sitting in a giant theater watching the protagonist slowly perform his finale. Under this mysterious spell, I keep my eyes on his graceful dance until he disappears from the stage. The shimmering spot lights still play in the background for a while before dimming into the darkness.

ช่วงเวลาไม่ถึงครึ่งชั่วโมงที่เรือค่อยๆ ลดความเร็วลงก่อนจะทอดสมอลอยลำนิ่งในวงล้อมของเกาะ ๑๑๕ ผมรู้สึกเหมือนกำลังนั่งอยู่ในโรงละครขนาดยักษ์ เฝ้าดูตัวเอกของเรื่องค่อยๆ เคลื่อนกายช้าๆ แต่สง่างามในฉากสุดท้าย การร่ายรำที่สะกดสายตาผมให้เฝ้ามองเขาแทบไม่กระพริบจนลับหายไปจากเวที แสงไฟสปอตไลต์ยังฉาบฉายฉากหลังอยู่ชั่วขณะ ก่อนจะหรี่สลัวแล้วมืดสนิท
